Usability testing: Card sorting description

The Library is continually working to improve your website experience. An important part of that is doing usability testing to make sure that people can easily find the information that they need. One type of usability testing is a card sort.

How does the card sort work? You'll be doing the card sort on a computer. You'll see a set of cards labeled with topics. Your task is to sort the cards into groups that make the most sense to you. At the end of your session, we'll ask you a few questions to help us better understand how you came up with your groups.

What will the Library do with my card sort results? How you sort the cards will help us improve how we organize information on our website.

Do I need to prepare? No. You don't need to do any preparation. You don't need to have any special knowledge. There are no right or wrong answers.

How long will it take? About 45 to 90 minutes

Will there be food? YES, pizza will be served!

Questions or comments, please feel free to contact Vivienne Houghton, Web Services Librarian.
